India vs England, 3rd T20I: Rishabh Pant Youngest To Make T20I Debut For India

After being selected in the side to face England in the decider of the T20I series at Bengaluru, Delhi-born Rishabh Pant has become the youngest player to make his debut for the country at the age of 19 years and 120 days.
The attacking batsman was in contention to make his place after entered hammered a quickfire triple hundred in the recently concluded Ranji Trophy. He was impressive in the domestic tournament having amassed 972 runs in eight matches at an average of 81.
The left-handed batter, however, made some noise with the bat during 2016 U-19 World Cup too, scoring 267 runs at an astonishing strike rate of over 104. During the world cup, he also scored the fastest fifty in just 18 balls against Nepal.
Pant has however opened in the short format of the games in the past but has batted at number five position for Delhi in the domestic structure.
Though, the 19-year hold has surpassed Ishant Sharma’s record by 32 days, as the lanky pacer made his debut against Australia on this very day (February 1, 2008) at an age of 19 years and 152 days.
