It seems the Indian fans are yet to get over the shocking defeat India suffered in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy last month in England. The Men in Blue had entered the final of the tournament on the back of some impressive wins and were the widely touted favourites to win the game against a team which was in its first ICC  50-over tournament final since 1999. Moreover, India had already defeated Pakistan once in the tournament and given their superior record against the arch-rivals, they were heavily backed to win the big finale at The Oval.

However, the Men in Green once again showed that they were the most unpredictable team in world cricket as they thrashed Virat Kohli & Co. by a whopping margin of 180 runs. As expected, the unexpected defeat did not go down well with the Indian fans and they did not refrain from expressing their disappointment over the poor result. But the defeat is a thing of the past now and Team India even won an ODI series in West Indies after the tournament. However, it seems the fans are still not over it and one such Indian fan tried to take a dig at Pakistan’s extravagant celebration but it only ended on a sad note for him as he was trolled by the ICC.

It all began when the ICC’s Facebook page posted a banner of Moeen Ali that England fans had displayed during the ongoing Test against South Africa at The Oval.

Sensing an opportunity to troll Pakistan, an Indian fan commented:“Breaking News: Pakistani still celebrating CT 2017 win.”

However, the comment backfired for the fan as the ICC came up with a witty reply by posting an image of Sarfraz Ahmed and Mickey Arthur with the Champions Trophy.

An avid sports lover, i always wanted to pursue a career in football. But just like the millions out there i did not put in the hard work needed to achieve my dream and now i have become a fan instead of the player. Anyway, writing for sports has kept me closer to this field. One more thing, yours sincerely is a die-hard Liverpool fan. You will never walk alone.
