The selectors announced the Indian team which will take on South Africa from 2nd October. The team has been announced for 3 T20s and first 3 One day International matches. The Indian team will be led by MS Dhoni in both formats which is great news for Indian fans.

In the T20 squad, the Indian team comprises of openers Dhawan and Rohit, followed by Kohli, Raina, MS Dhoni, Rahane, Rayadu, All-rounder Stuart Binny and one more all rounder Axar Patel. In the bowling department, Harbhajan Singh retains his place in T20, R Ashwin, Amit Mishra makes a return to the T20 squad. Mohit Sharma and Sreenath Arvind get a surprise call to the Indian team. The Indian team consists of spinners and the focus is on the next T20 world Cup which will be held in India. S Arvind had a good season in the Ranji Trophy last year and also a good performer in the KPL. The batsmen are well established and pick themselves. The fast bowling department is a little weak. Stuart Binny and Axar Patel would hope to fill the all rounders spot with some consistent performance in the T20 series. Ravindra Jadeja was dropped from the T20 squad because of poor form.

The selectors also announced the squad for the first 3 One day Internationals. The team is captained by MS Dhoni. In this team, Dhawan and Rohit are openers, followed by Kohli, Rayadu, Rahane, Raina. The selectors have introduced a new face Gurkeerat Singh Mann who has performed well in India A matches recently. The all-rounder spot is occupied by Stuart Binny and Axar Patel. Amit Mishra makes a comeback in the One-day International squad too. R Ashwin cements his spots. The fast bowling department comprises of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohit Sharma and Umesh Yadav. Ravindra Jadeja has been dropped from One-day International squad.
