Seeing a young Indian team perform so well at World Cup, meant that youngsters all over the country are raring to prove a point to the selectors that they belong at the highest level and Manoj Tiwary is one such talent.
Tiwary who is already capped 9 times in ODIs for the country plays his cricket for the Delhi Daredevils and expects to make an international comeback by performing in this season of the IPL.
Tiwary explained that though there are players who have gone on to play for India after a good display in the IPL, the competition now meant that they had to be consistent even in the domestic circuit after performing in the IPL.
He felt that with the T20 World Cup coming up next year this sesaon’s IPL is a great chance to make a statement to selectors and grab a pace in the team for that tournament. He said that every player will always be thinking about it and that it will only increase the level of performance of the players on the field.
Tiwary who returned back to DD from KKR, a franchise located in his home state, said that it is Test Cricket that he respects the most and that T20 is just to show off the skills of a player. He said that T20 is all about getting the job done and that the real form of cricket the Test cricket is what brings out the best of a particular player.
