After a 3-0 victory over Sri Lanka, the Indian selectors sat and picked the squad for the last two ODI’s which is scheduled to take place on Thursday and Sunday. Opener Rohit Sharma, who was injured and was away from the game for over two months, returned to the team.

Robin Uthappa, Vinay Kumar and Kedar Jadhav have been called up to the squad.  Shikhar Dhawan, who had a terrific tournament till the third ODI has been rested while Ishant Sharma and Varun are nursing some minor injuries. Aaron himself during the first ODI at Cuttack while Ishant left the field midway through in the third ODI at Ahmedabad. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been given an extended rest ahead of a long tour of Australia. Ravindra Jadeja has been dropped from the squad. Akshar Patel, who performed pretty well in the first three matches, will look to make his case strong with some brilliant performances in the coming matches ahead of the World Cup.

It was expected that Manish Pandey, who is having an exceptional Vijay Hazare trophy might be included in the squad but the selectors went in with Kedar Jadhav. Now the big headache for the team management is the position where Rohit Sharma will bat after Ambati Rayudu grabbed the oppurtunity with both his hands in the absence of his Mumbai Indians skipper. Robin Uthappa is expected to be the wicket-keeper for India in the last two matches. Karn Sharma, who was chosen for Australian tour has also been selected for the last two ODI’s.

The Squad: Virat Kohli(C), Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, Robin Uthappa, Akshar Patel, Karn Sharma, R Ashwin, Umesh Yadav, Dhawal Kulkarni, Stuart Binny, Vinay Kumar, Kedar Jadhav.
