India team celebrates winning the series against West Indies after play was abandoned day 5 of the 4th and final Test between West Indies and India at Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. The fourth and final Test of the series between the West Indies and India was abandoned as a draw because of a waterlogged outfield on the scheduled fifth morning in Trinidad on Monday. No play was possible for the fourth consecutive day at the Queen's Park Oval, after only 22 overs were bowled at the start of the match with the West Indies reaching 62 for two before lunch on day one. The Indian cricket team is set to create another record in Test cricket by becoming the fifth nation to play 500 Test matches in the history of cricket. Till now team India has played 499 Test matches with a winning percentage of 25.90. Out of these, the team has won 129 Test matches whereas has faced defeat in 157 matches. A total number of 212 matches ended in a draw and one game ended in a tie.
Team India team played its first Test matches against England at Lord’s on 25 June 1932. Incidentally on the same day in the year 1983, the Indian team went onto to lift the 1983 World Cup.

England team tops the list of most Test matches played a team with an experience of 976 Test matches. The Australian team is in the second spot by virtue of playing 791 Test matches. West Indies team is third on the list with 516 Test matches in their bag whereas the Indian team is in the fourth spot with 499 Test matches. The visiting New Zealand team is in the fifth spot with an experience of 412 Test matches.

Out of the top 5 teams, the Australian team has the best winning percentage of 47.02% whereas New Zealand team has worst winning percentage of 20.73. Kiwis have lost 165 matches out of 410 Test matches. They have won 85 games and have managed to draw 160 Test matches.

The Indian team is scheduled to play 13 Test matches in the upcoming home season and will soon get near to West Indies record in few months to come.
