Indvs Eng: Jayant Yadav Breaks 51 Year Old Record

Indian all-rounder Jayant Yadav, today, during his innings of 92* (till lunch) broke a 51-year old record. The moment, he scored his 91st run of this innings, he surpassed the record of highest score by a batsman batting at ninth position in Test cricket for India. Previously, the record was held by Farokh Engineer, who played an innings of 90* runs against New Zealand in Chennai in the year 1965. He held the record for upcoming 51 years before, finally, Haryana skipper chased the record and broke it today on the fourth day of Wankhede Test.

At Lunch, he was batting on a score of 92* and he may go on to score a century as well. His innings came at a time when India team needed him the most as they were stuck in a tough condition at 364/7 and were facing high chances of conceding the first innings lead to England before Jayant Yadav came into action and shared a partnership of 215* (until lunch on day 4) to keep India way ahead of England in the game.

On the other hand, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli scored his third double century of this year becoming the first ever Indian to do so. He is just behind Michael Clarke who has a record of four double centuries. Indian team is yet to play a Test match this year, Virat Kohli still has one more chance to equal this record as well and become the unanimous star of the year 2016.

At Lunch, Indian team leads by 179 runs with three wickets in hand.
