India’s Ajinkya Rahane is currently one of the classy players in the cricketing world. On the field, he is extremely athletic and is probably the team’s best fielder along side Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja. His skill, dedication, focus and unflinching determination on the cricket field has earned him the admiration of one and all. So, it would be right to say that India have a great talent in Ajinkya Rahane. Let us take a look at some of the interesting and unknown facts about him: 

-> Rahane was born in Ashwi KD village of Ahmednagar district, Maharashtra, India.

-> Rahane started his proper cricketing career at the age of 17 and took coaching from former Indian batsman and Mumbai coach Pravin Amre.

-> When Rahane was seven, his father took him to a small coaching camp with a matting wicket in Dombivli, as they could not afford proper coaching. His mother would walk 2 km with him to the coaching centre everyday.

-> At the age of 19, he made his first-class debut for Mumbai against Karachi Urban in the Mohammad Nissar Trophy in September 2007 and scored a hundred against the Urban’s potent bowling attack comprising Anwar Ali (Represented Pakistan in ODIs and T20s).

-> He meditates regularly that helps him stay calm and composed.

-> Rahane is an ardent devotee of Shirdi Sai Baba.

-> In addition to playing cricket, Rahane is also a karate black belt and likes cooking too.

-> Rahane’s secret dream is to own a Lamborghini and an Aston Martin.

-> He tied the knot with his childhood friend Radhika Dhopvkar in September last year.
