Mumbai Indians continued their winning run at their home ground, as the men in blue cruised to their third successive win in the tournament.
Once again, Nitish Rana shined for the team, as the Delhi guy scored his third half-century of the tournament. Though, he could not do the finishing work, but the way he stepped up for the role after fall of the first wicket, it was great to see.
He was promoted by skipper Rohit Sharma in the batting order and the left-handed batsman has lived up to the promise till now. With this win, Mumbai Indians climbed to the top of the table with four wins in five games.
An elated Rohit Sharma was in all praise for his team and Rana, the Man of the Match. Here is what Rohit said in the presentation ceremony –
Rohit Sharma –
Good overall performance from the team. It is something we have always spoken about, being consistent as a team in all the departments. Our bowling and batting have come good and in fielding as well, we have put our hands up collectively to take the challenge. It’s never easy to play a four o clock game but hats off to all the guys for putting up a brilliant show today. I always had this thing in mind (to use spinners wisely). I have played a lot of cricket at Wankhede and when you play a four o clock game, the ball tends to stop a little bit which our spinners used to their advantage.
Harbhajan Singh and Krunal Pandya have bowled on this wicket a lot and they understand the line and length which they need to bowl. He is a great talent (Nitish Rana). We want to see more and more of him. Like I told him, that is just the start of the tournament and he has a long way to go. He has taken the challenge and we knew that he is great at it. He is enjoying the atmosphere and like he said he is enjoying with the guys. He has taken up the role pretty brilliantly.
