Rajasthan Royals have decided to retain Ajinkya Rahane, Sanju Samson, Stuart Binny, Shane Watson & James Faulkner ahead of the IPL 2014 auctions.

It is no surprise that the Shilpa Shetty co-owned franchise have decided to retain the core of a team which surprised all pundits by reaching the playoffs of last season’s IPL and finishing runners-up in the Champions League T20 under the mercurial leadership of Rahul Dravid.

With Dravid deciding to hang up his boots, the onus on leading the side could go to Australian all-rounder Shane Watson.

The Rajasthan side also have the option to exercise their “right-to-match” card and they are expected to utilise the card to buy back T20 specialist Brad Hogg, who has been a consistent performer for them over the last three seasons.
