Top 5 best economical buys of IPL7

Praveen Tambe: Rajasthan Royals had a decent campaign in this year’s IPL and were all set for a place in the final 4 , but some MI heroics just ensured that they do not. But, still Tambe managed to make his mark. In 13 matches , he picked up 15 wickets at an economy rate of just 7.26. He averaged just 26.73 and had a strike rate of 19.60 . He picked up a match winning hat-trick against KKR. The fact that he was bought at just 10 lakhs make him one of the best buy.

Yuzvendra Chahal : This lad from Haryana impressed one and all with his leg spin. He was warming the bench , when he was playing for the Mumbai Indians and this is why  he was bought at just 10 lakhs. In his 14 matches, he picked up 12 wickets at an economy rate of just 7.01. His average was 32.16 and the strike rate was 27.50. He was definitely a high point for the Royal Bangalore Challengers, who did not have a good time in this year’s IPL.

Akshar Patel: He was declared as the “ Emerging Player of the Season” . Bought at just 70 lakhs, he his success has to be credited to Sanjay Bangar, who went for buying him. When someone like Murali Kartik was already there in the team, many thought that he won’t get a game. But what happened was completely different. He was very mean when it came to giving away runs and was second to only Sunil Narine in giving away runs. He  picked up 17 wickets in 17 matches at an economy of just 6.13 runs. He averaged 23.82 with the ball and had a strike rate of 23.29 . He also contributed with the bat and earned a spot in the Indian team as an all rounder.

Sandeep Sharma: Though , he had a lean phase with the ball in the 2nd half of the tournament, but in the first half, he was the pillar of Kings X11 bowling. He was revolutionary with the ball, swinging it both ways , with lot of control. He picked up 18 wickets in just 11 matches at an average of just 19.66. The fact that he took it with a strike rate of just 13.38 just shows his wicket taking ability. Picked up at just 85 lakhs, he deserves a place here.

SuryaKumar Yadav: His stats might not bring the his contribution. He was a finisher and did not receive the number of deliveries he deserved. But, his runs came in a difficult situation and most of the times , he was able to finish the innings well for KKR. He was just picked at 70 lakhs but played all the games. He scored 164 runs in 10 innings at an average of 32.80 and at an strike rate of over 140.
