The auction of the players for the IPL 2016 will be held on February 6th. With two new teams entering into the fold, Pune and Rajkot, replacing Chennai SuperKings and Rajasthan Royals, there has been a provision for the two new teams. They will have the advantage to pick players before the auction.
10 players will be selected on the basis of a draft and these two teams can pick these players and they won’t go into the auction. These 10 players will include 5 from Chennai SuperKings and 5 from Rajasthan Royals. Players like MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Shane Watson and Steve Smith are likely to be among these 10 players.
IPL 2018 will again see Chennai SuperKings and Rajasthan Royals coming back. Also, this will be the first IPL when the players like MS Dhoni, R Ashwin and Suresh Raina will be playing for a different franchise.
The players in the draft will be picked on December 15th and Pune will get the chance to pick a player first.
The 2 new franchises of Pune and Rajkot has been bought by Sanjeev Goenka and Intex Mobiles respectively. Goenka will pay 10 crore per year to BCCI, whereas Intex Mobiles will pay 16 crores for 2 year deal.
