Explosive, entertaining, dangerous. These are few of the adjectives which come to mind while describing the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The men from Bangalore, led by the ever dynamic Virat Kohli have been simply outstanding in this edition of the IPL, and are just a step away from clinching their first ever IPL title. However, this won’t be the Royal Challengers’ first shot at grabbing the coveted title.
Virat Kohli ended up as a member of the runner up side on two separate occasions – in 2009 and 2011. Kohli would be eager to make amends this time around and considering the form he is in currently, the stage is all set for the Indian batting machine to emerge victorious.
The Royal Challengers have been a force to reckon with in the second half of the tournament. After being placed at the 7th spot for quite some time, Virat Kohli and his lads turned their fortunes around with an improved bowling performance. The presence of Chris Jordan has been a big factor behind Bangalore’s sudden resurgence in this IPL. The likes of Yuzvendra Chahal and Shane Watson have been among the wickets, which has been a big boost for the side.
Considering an occasion such as the IPL final against an equally dangerous side, the men in red would be eager to keep their core intact. One can expect the Royal Challengers Bangalore to field the same playing XI which emerged victorious against the Gujarat Lions in the first qualifier at Bangalore. With the bowling coming to the party, this side looks like worthy champions.
Expected playing XI for RCB:
- V. Kohli ( c ) 2. C. Gayle 3. AB De Villiers 4. K.L. Rahul 5. S. Watson 6. S. Baby 7. S. Binny 8. C. Jordan 9. I. Abdullah 10. Y. Chahal 11. S. Aravind
