Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 45 runs at M Chinaswamy Stadium, Bangalore just few moments ago. It was a dominating display by Royal Challengers team who outplayed their opponents in all departments.

 

  1. Hurricane batting by Virat Kohli and AB De Villers

Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and choose to field. Bhuvneshwar Kumar got the early wicket of explosive Chris Gayle for 1. Soon after Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers smashed the bowlers all over the park. In the first six overs RCB scored 49 for 1. After that De Villers and Kohli looked in great touch. AB De Villers scored 50 off 27 balls. Both of them smashed Karn Sharma. Virat Kohli also continued his excellent form as he completed his half century 40 balls. Both of them put on 150 for the second wicket in 14.2 overs. Virat Kohli was the second batsmen dismissed for 75.

 

  1. Sarfarz Khan cameo

Sarfarz Khan played a cameo innings scoring 35 off 10 balls. He came at the crease in 18th over but Khan played 4 innovative strokes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowling hitting 3 fours and 1 six in the 19th over. In the last over too Sarfarz Khan hit a six and four. He finished not out and helped Royal Challengers Bangalore to post a huge total of 227. His innings was full of innovative strokes which put Sunrisers bowlers under pressure.

 

  1. Rahman economical spell

For Sunrisers team, Bangladesh spearhead Mustfizur Rahman was the only bowler who was economical. He bowled brilliantly and deceived the batsmen with his variations. When other bowlers were going for over 12 per over, Rahaman bowled with great control. He bowled 4 over’s giving away 25 runs and picked 2 important wickets of AB De Villers and Shane Watson. He was the most impressive bowler for the team

 

  1. David Warner raising hopes

Chasing a mammoth total of 228, David Warner began the innings off to a great start smashing Milne for a four and six in the 3rd over. Dhawan was dismissed for 8 runs. After the loss of Dhawans wicket, David Warner took the charge and smashed the fast bowlers, spinners to all parts of the ground. Henquries was struggling for timing but David Warner completed his half century off 21 balls. David Warner was raising hopes of Sunrisers victory but he was dismissed by Shane Watson for 58 which dashed the hopes of a victory.

 

  1. David Warner wicket led to downfall

After the fall of David Warner wicket, the Sunrisers batsmen were unable to put pressure on the Bangalore bowling line up. Naman Ojha, Henquries, Hooda fell in quick succession to leave Hyderabad at 101 for 5. Ashish Reddy played a good knock but it was too late for Sunrisers to push for a victory. Shane Watson and Chahal picked 2 wickets each. Bangalore won the match by 45 runs.
