IPL 2016: Royal Challengers Bangalore Players Rating
Apr 22, 2016 at 11:56 PM
Both Royals Challengers Bangalore and Rising Pune Supergiants needed a win in this match desperately as the winner of this match would go up to the 3rd spot in the league table. Some brilliant hitting by AB de Villiers and a sensible knock from Kohli ensured a comfortable win for the men in red in the end. Here’s rating all the players from the winning team –
Virat Kohli (C): 4/5
Played a sensible knock after losing the opener early but a slow start in beginning is something that doesn’t suit his style.
KL Rahul: 1/5
Got a brilliant opportunity to capitalize on the absence of Chris Gayle. 7 runs off 10 balls in the poweplay overs. Not acceptable in a team that has players who often bat with a strike rate of above 140.
AB de Villiers: 4.5/5
Played an innings that was next to perfect in the right situation. Had he kept the strike with him a bit more, probably the team would have gone past 200. 83 off 46 is no less either.
Shane Watson: 3.5/5
Bowled at a rate of 8 an over. Was expensive initially but picking the wicket of Perera in the 19th over, probably saved the match for RCB.
Sarfaraz Khan: 3/5
Didn’t get a chance to bat. Can’t blame him.
Stuart Binny: 1/5
Bowled just the 2 overs, gave away 23 runs. One expects a lot better from an allrounder.
Harshal Patel: 1.5/5
46 of 4 overs and 1 wicket. When the required rate at beginning of the innings is just 9, you can’t give away runs at more than 11 runs per over.
Kane Richardson: 4/5
Bowled brilliantly, got the initial break through. Will have to lead the bowling attack of RCB from here on.
Tabraiz Shamsi: 3/5
Not really bad numbers for a debut spinner. 4 overs, 36 runs and 1 wicket is still not a good record, considering his domestic season.
Iqbal Abdulla: 3.5/5
Second most economical bowler in this match. Surely a better pick compared to Yuzvendra Chahal
Royal Challengers are now 3rd in the league table but their bowling still needs a bit more improvement and then they will be a team to look out for.
