IPL 2017 Final: Watch: Shardul Thakur’s Brilliant Catch To Dismiss Rohit Sharma Cheaply

With his team reduced to 41 for 3 in the eighth over, Mumbai Indians must have had pinned their hopes on their skipper Rohit Sharma to steer them to a good total in the final of the Indian Premier League against Rising Pune Supergiant. Sharma had walked into bat when his side was reeling at 8 for 2 in the third over.
With runs hard to come by, the India opener relied on singles and doubles to keep the scoreboard ticking before hitting 4 boundaries in the sixth over to guide his team to a respectable 32 after the end of the powerplay. But his hopes of guiding his team to a good total took a huge blow when his partner Ambati Rayudu was run-out for 12. However, the captain failed to bail his team out of the trouble as he too joined his teammates in the dressing room after scoring just 24. With just 56 runs on the board after the end of the 10th over, Sharma tried to go for a big shot on the very first ball of the eleventh over bowled by Adam Zampa.
Zampa bowled a short ball inviting Rohit to go for the shot and the Mumbai Indians skipper duly obliged. The India opener rocked back on the backfoot to hit the pull shot but in doing so, he lost his balance. However, his shot was still looking good enough to clear the mid-on boundary but Shardul Thakur had other plans. The fast-bowler timed his jump to perfection to take a superb catch before somehow managing to touch the boundary rope. On the other hand, Sharma was livid to throw away his wicket at such a precarious time and was seen venting his frustration by swinging his bat hard.
Here is a clip of that wicket:
