IPL 2017 – Match 48 – Sunrisers Hyderabad Vs Mumbai Indians – SRH Predicted XI

Pretty much like the last season, this time around as well, the Sunrisers Hyderabad have been guilty of unnecessarily making things complicated for themselves by squashing up at the last moment.

If recent results are anything to go by, then the Sunrisers haven’t been at their best, and that was evident in their afternoon encounter against the Rising Pune Supergiant. Needing less than 150 to win, it marked the first occasion where the men from Hyderabad failed to chase a target less than 150.

The loss has come in at a very crucial juncture for them, as it just spices up the contest for the fourth team which will make it to the playoffs. Up next, they are against undoubtedly the most power-packed side this season, Mumbai Indians.

In order to get the desired results against the Rohit Sharma-led outfit, the Sunrisers would have to play out of their skins.

PREVIOUS ENCOUNTER:

The teams met previously on the 12th of April at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai which marked Sunrisers’ first loss of the season as well. Batting first, the visitors got off to a slow start but looked good to get to a decent total.

However, some mindless batting from the middle order meant that the side was restricted to a below par 158 in 20 overs.

The venue being the Wankhede Stadium, the target was never going to be a challenging one for the hosts, as they strolled to the mark with more than an over to spare. Pacer Jasprit Bumrah was named the Man of the Match for his fine spell where he took three wickets while conceding just 24 runs.

Recent form this season:

SRH: L, L, W, W, L

MI: W, W, W, L, W

Talking Points:

The injury to Ashish Nehra in the previous game was a massive blow, as the Sunrisers were deprived of a quality bowler. With Mohammad Siraj making his inexperience quite obvious by leaking runs, Punjab pacer Barinder Sran should make his way into the team.

If Sran doesn’t find a spot in the XI, then it must be said that something is horribly wrong with the Hyderabad think tank.

Moises Henriques has turned out to be an extreme liability for his team, as he has underperformed in all departments. With two valuable options available in the form of Ben Cutting and Afghan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi, one of the two should ideally replace Henriques.

SRH Predicted XI:

  1. D. Warner (c) 2. S. Dhawan 3. K. Williamson 4. Y. Singh 5. B. Cutting 6. N. Ojha (wk) 7. B. Sharma 8. B. Kumar 9. R. Khan 10. B. Sran 11. S. Kaul
