IPL 2017: Rishabh Pant Suffers Burn On Foot While Last Rites Of His Father

Delhi Daredevils Batsman Rishabh Pant has suffered a burn on his leg while attending the last rites of his father in Kankhal, Haridwar. Rishabh Pant’s father Rajendra Pant, on Wednesday, passed away after suffering a heart attack while asleep, he was 53 years old. It was an unfortunate incident for the young batsman.
Soon after hearing the news, Rishabh Pant rushed to his hometown Roorkee where the incident took place. Delhi Daredevils’ management will certainly be hoping for the best and his injury not to be worst. Delhi already had few setbacks before the start of the season as JP Duminy, Quinton De Kock ruled himself out from the tournament and Shreyas Iyer, Angelo Mathews will be missing initial games.
Rishabh Pant after the incident was provided with the first aid on the spot. According to the reports, Pant’s father was asleep when he suffered heart-attack. he was complaining about the exhaustion from past few weeks, On Wednesday evening he went to rest room then later when his family member went there to call him up for the dinner he was not responding, he was taken to a private hospital after that and was declared dead there.
Rishabh Pant earlier this year made his T20 International debut for Indian team against England. Rishabh Pant had a golden run in this recently concluded Ranji Trophy season scoring 972 runs at an average of 81 and strike rate of 107. He scored four tons this season, including one triple ton against Maharashtra and a quick 48-ball ton against Jharkhand. He is expected to get many more chances as Indian Selectors find him an interesting prospect for the future.
Rishabh Pant may join the squad just a day before Delhi’s first game against Royal Challengers Bangalore. The match is scheduled on Saturday in Bangalore.
