IPL 2017: Royal Challengers Bangalore Vs Gujarat Lions Toss Report: Lions To Field First, Tymal Mills Misses Out, Ankit Soni Debuts

Gujarat Lions won the toss and opted to field first against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 31st match of Indian Premier League 2017 at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
For the home team, pacer Tymal Mills has been replaced by Travis Head due to a slight niggle while Aniket Choudhary has replaced Stuart Binny.
The visitors have also made two changes, replacing Dwayne Smith and Akshdeep Nath with James Faulkner and Ankit Soni respectively.
Here is what the captains said:
Suresh Raina: “We gonna bowl first. It is better to bat. Our bowling has been a bit of a surprise. Nath, Smith miss out.”
Virat Kohli: The situation is pretty similar to last year. We were looking to bat first. Batting second has been difficult. It is not a bad thing to be batting first. Tymal has just had a niggle, so Head comes in. Binny misses out, Aniket comes in.
Meanwhile, both the teams would be desperately hoping for a good result from this encounter to keep alive their hopes of making it to the playoffs. The tournament has already entered its business but neither of these two teams has managed to hit the top gear yet.
Royal Challengers Bangalore, who made it to the final in the last edition, are sixth in the table after managing just a couple of wins in the first 8 games and a wash-out against Sunrisers Hyderabad has only put them under extra pressure. On the other hand, the table-toppers of last year, Gujarat Lions are languishing at the bottom of the table after managing the same number of wins but having played one game less than their opponents.
Here are the playing eleven of both the teams:
Royal Challengers Bangalore:
Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli(c), Mandeep Singh, AB de Villiers, Travis Head, Kedar Jadhav(w), Pawan Negi, Samuel Badree, Sreenath Aravind, Yuzvendra Chahal, Aniket Choudhary
Gujarat Lions:
Brendon McCullum, Aaron Finch, Suresh Raina(c), Dinesh Karthik(w), Ishan Kishan, Ravindra Jadeja, James Faulkner, Andrew Tye, Nathu Singh, Basil Thampi, Ankit Soni
