Kolkata Knight Riders captain Gautam Gambhir won the toss and opted to field first against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 46th match of Vivo Indian Premier League 2017 at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

For the hosts, Travis Head has replaced Shane Watson.

On the other hand for the visitors, Chris Lynn has returned to the playing eleven after recovering from a shoulder injury that he sustained in the second game against Mumbai Indians.

Lynn has replaced Nathan Coulter-Nile while Ankit Rajpoot and Piyush Chawla have replaced Suryakumar Yadav and Kuldeep Yadav respectively.

Here is what the captains said:

Gautam Gambhir:

We will bowl first. The pitch will not chase a lot, we will look to restrict them. Three changes for us. Chris Lynn is in for Coulter-Nile, Ankit Rajpoot replaces Suryakumar Yadav and Piyush Chawla comes in place of Kuldeep Yadav.

Virat Kohli:

We have had a few problems chasing, we would have batted first anyway. The wicket is very different when compared to that of last year. We don’t want to put pressure on ourselves, they love to chase, so that’s good for both teams. We are pretty motivated, we don’t want to play spoilsport. We just want to finish the tournament on a high and get two points from today’s game. One change for us, Travis Head replaces Shane Watson.

Both the teams, meanwhile, will be desperate for a win in this match although they need the two points for the different reason. While hosts Royal Challengers Bangalore, languishing last in the table with just two wins from 12 matches, will be playing for pride, third-placed Kolkata Knight Riders will be playing to secure the playoff berth and also strengthen their position in a bid to finish in the top two.

Talking about their last meeting this year, the Gautam Gambhir-led side had inflicted a humiliating defeat on the runners-up of 2016 by bowling them out for 49 runs to register an 82-run win.

Here is the playing XI of both the teams:

Royal Challengers Bangalore:

Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli (c), Mandeep Singh, AB de Villiers, Kedar Jadhav (wk), Travis Head, Pawan Negi, Samuel Badree, Sreenath Aravind, Yuzvendra Chahal, Aniket Choudhary.

Kolkata Knight Riders:

Sunil Narine, Gautam Gambhir(c), Chris Lynn, Manish Pandey, Sheldon Jackson(w), Yusuf Pathan, Chris Woakes, Colin de Grandhomme, Ankit Rajpoot, Piyush Chawla, Umesh Yadav
