IPL 2017 : Rising Pune Supergiant Bowl As Washington Sundar Makes IPL Debut; Unwell Yuvi Dropped

The home side Rising Pune Supergiant won the toss and decided to bowl first. Washington Sundar was handed debut game of IPL as he replaced the leg-spinner Rahul Chahar, who did not bowl at all in the previous game against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Sundar was signed by the franchise as a replacement of Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who was ruled out of the T20 league due to an injury.

In the other camp, an unwell Yuvraj Singh made way for his former statemate Bipul Sharma. Rest of the ten players were retained from the previous contest, which the team won against Delhi Daredevils.

Both the teams are coming fresh from a win and will look to continue the momentum.

Here is what both the captains said at the time fo the toss –

Warner: We probably would have bowled as well. Looks a good wicket, and should stay the same. For us, we have three games in a row, hopefully we can get started with a win. I’ll tell you after the game (how his body is holding up). Yuvi is ill today and we’ve got in Bipul Sharma.

Smith: We’re going to have a bowl. It was nice to unwind for a little while, actually popped out to Dubai for a couple of days. We now have five games in a close span. Sundar Washington comes in for his first game in IPL, in place of Rahul Chahar.

Here is the playing XI of both the sides –

Rising Pune Supergiant (Playing XI): Ajinkya Rahane, Rahul Tripathi, Steven Smith(c), MS Dhoni(w), Ben Stokes, Daniel Christian, Manoj Tiwary, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Imran Tahir, Jaydev Unadkat.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (Playing XI): David Warner(c), Shikhar Dhawan, Kane Williamson, Moises Henriques, Deepak Hooda, Naman Ojha(w), Rashid Khan, Bipul Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Siraj, Siddarth Kaul.
