IPL 2017: Twitter Reacts As Chris Gayle’s Blistering Knock Fires RCB To Big Total

Riding on Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli’s half-centuries, Royal Challengers Bangalore posted a mammoth 213 for two against Gujarat Lions.

After being asked to bat first, Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli made an unusually slow start but once the latter hit Dhawal Kulkarni for three fours in the third over, the duo hit the top gear.

Gayle, who became the first player to score 10,000 T20 runs when he crossed the three-run mark during the innings, was looking at his devastating best while Kohli was looking more than happy to play the second fiddle.

The West Indian star was dismissed after scoring 77 off just 38 balls with the help of five fours and seven sixes. Kohli too completed his second fifty of this tournament before being sent back by Dhawal Kulkarni after scoring 64 off 50 balls.

Kedar Jadhav and Travis Head then played quickfire knocks to help Bangalore finish their innings on a strong note. Head scored 30 off just 16 balls while Jadhav blasted 38 runs off the same number of balls to propel their team to a huge total.

Meanwhile, the cricketing fraternity made sure to congratulate Gayle for crossing the 10,000-run mark in the shortest format of the game.

Here are some of the best reactions for Gayle’s record as well as RCB’s innings:
