One day wasn’t enough to determine the side advancing ahead into this edition as the weather tested the patience of both teams. After restricting the Sunrisers Hyderabad to a below par total of 128 in 20 overs, the Knight Riders waited for more than three hours before their chase could finally commence. Needing an altered target of 48 from 6 overs, the Knight Riders got home in the last over, and won with four balls to spare.

It was the bowling from Gautam Gambhir’s side which did the trick however, as Sunrisers were strangled to a mediocre total. Nathan Coulter-Nile made an excellent case for himself as he picked up three wickets.
