IPL 2017: Twitter Reacts As Sunrisers Hyderabad Beat Delhi Daredevils

Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Delhi Daredevils by 15 runs to register their fourth win of the tournament.

Chasing 191, the capital-based outfit were one down with just 14 on the board after Sam Billings’ flick went straight to Deepak Hooda, giving debutant Mohammed Siraj his first wicket. A 71-run partnership between Sanju Samson and Karun Nair then steadied the ship but two wickets in space of 3 balls dented the hopes of chasing down the big total. Nair was the first to go when he was run out for 33 before the in-form Rishabh Pant joined him in the dressing room after Yuvraj Singh dismissed him for a golden duck.

Shreyas Iyer and Angelo Mathews kept the chase on but eventually fell short by 15 runs. Needing 24 runs from the final over, they could manage only 8 runs and suffered their second consecutive defeat.

Earlier, half-centuries from Kane Williamson and Shikhar Dhawan propelled the hosts to a massive total of 191 for 4 after they lost their skipper David Warner cheaply. The duo added 136 runs for the second wicket before Williamson was dismissed for a well-made 89 off just 51 balls. Dhawan scored 70 off 50 balls while Chris Morris starred with the ball with figures of 4 for 26 in his 4 overs.
