IPL 2017: Twitter Trolls Royal Challengers Bangalore After Yet Another Batting Display

Riding on Sandeep Sharma and Axar Patel’s 3-wicket hauls, Kings XI Punjab piled more misery on Royal Challengers Bangalore, dismissing them for only 119 runs to beat them by 19 runs.

Chasing 138, the home side suffered a huge setback right in the first over when Chris Gayle was sent back by Sandeep Sharma for a 2-ball duck.

One over later, the right-arm pacer gave the Royal Challengers another massive blow when he cleaned up Virat Kohli with a brilliant inswinger. AB de Villiers (10 ),  Kedar Jadhav (6), Shane Watson (3) disappointed with the bat too, as half of their team returned to the pavilion with only 71 runs on the board.

The runners-up of last year soon found themselves in the further mess when Mandeep Singh departed after scoring 46. At 87 for seven, the hosts were looking well out of the contest before Pawan Negi reignited their hopes with a 21-run knock.

However, the outcome of the match became clear when Negi was dismissed by Axar Patel with 111 runs on the board.

Earlier, Axar Patel had played a quickfire knock of 38 runs from just 17 balls to help his team recover from a poor start and post a respectable 138 for seven in the allotted 20 overs. The visitors were reeling at 78 for five in the fourteenth over before Axar Patel hit some lusty blows in the death overs.
