Wriddhiman Saha further cemented his status as arguably the best wicketkeeper in the country with another stunning catch in the ongoing match against Delhi Daredevils. The catch, meanwhile, also ensured that Karun Nair’s barren run with the bat continues with another low score.
Brimming with confidence after a thumping 97-run win over Rising Pune Supergiant, Delhi Daredevils went off to a solid start with their openers Sam Billings and Sanju Samson adding 53 runs for the first wicket before Samson, who had scored a hundred in the last game, was sent back by KC Cariappa.
Two runs later, the home team suffered another setback when Saha made a brilliant dive to his wrong side to dismiss Karun Nair for a three-ball duck.
Varun Aaron tried to unsettle Nair with some short-pitched stuff. Nair managed to ensure his safety on the first two balls he faced but could not stop himself from edging the third delivery which was short and was drifting down the leg side.
There was still a lot to do for Saha to convert the edge into a wicket and the India wicketkeeper did in style. The 32-year old made a full-length dive towards his left side and completed a sensational two-handed catch.
Here is a clip of that stunning grab:
