Gujarat Lions might receive a big boost ahead of their clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore as all-rounder Dwayne Bravo is in line to make a comeback to competitive cricket after a period of four months. Bravo attended a practice session with Gujarat Lions a day ahead of the game, which gives a clear indication that he might be included in the side for the game against RCB.
However, the Carribean all-rounder has to clear a fitness test in order to get a place in the playing XI.
Earlier, Brad Hodge, the Head Coach of Gujarat Lions said that Bravo will be available for the team from April 20th but he recovered well in time, which might prepone his arrival.
Bravo injured himself during the Big Bash League 2016/17 when he suffered a hamstring injury. He went on to miss the second edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) and also the opening phase of IPL.
He will look to turn the torrid form of the team in the tournament as the Gujarat-based franchise has just won one out of four games they have participated in. The team have failed to emulate their performance of last year and Bravo will have the responsibility to lift the team in both the departments of the game.
Last year, Bravo played a total of 15 games where he marked his presence by scoring 99 runs and taking 17 wickets as well. Skipper Suresh Raina will hope to Bravo to come up with the same sort of performance in order to turn the fortunes of the team.
Gujarat Lions and Royal Challengers face off each other today i.e. April 20 at SCA Stadium in Rajkot.
Meanwhile, it has been learnt that KL Rahul and Murali Vijay, who are missing the ongoing edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) due to an injury have arrived back in the country after undergoing surgeries.
