Mumbai Indians and Chennai SuperKings will face each other in what has been termed as the eliminator . The loser of this match will be out of the tournament , whereas the winner will have to compete with the loser of the match between Kings X11 Punjab and Kolkata Knightriders

Chennai SuperKings have been consisten team through out the tournament but to an extent, has lost the killer touch , towards the end of the league matches. Mumbai Indians were written off after the horrible first leg of the tournament , where they didnot manage to even win a single game. But, they had a turn around in their fortunes in the 2nd half and made their way into the Top 4 in the most thrilling way possible.

Strong points:

Both the sides have a poer packed batting order. CSK will look for a solid start from their openers and has been , to an extent, depleted by the absence of McCullum. Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni will carry on the middle order and Jadeja can play some big shots to finish up the innings.

Mumbai Indians showed what they can do with the bat . It was a complete power on show and the number of power hitters in their cag , makes them dangerous . Their problem regarding the opening slot has been solved after the duo of Hussey and Simmons have joined the party.

Weak Points:

Bowling has been the weak points for both the teams and with the match on a batting paradise, expect the bowlers to be belted for some big hits and mis hits clearing the boundaries. Chennai lack someone with raw pace and Ashwin and Jadeja have not been consistent. Mumbai has been dented with the absence of Mailnga , who has gone to England for his national duties.

Team News:

CSK is expected to go with the same side and Mumbai Indians might bring in Praveen Kumar, if he is fit.

Key Players: Corey Anderson , after his last match exploits will be a key player for MI. Harbhajan Singh , with his experience and performances in this year’s IPL will lead the bowling troops.

For CSK, Dwayne Smith holds the key and MS Dhoni will need to come good to post decent score against Mumbai Indians.

Expected result: With the home conditions and their past performance at this venue, Mumbai Indians hold an edge over the Chennai Super Kings. Chennai’s bowling will be exposed. It’s 60-40 in the favou of Mumbai Indians.
