Jazques Kallis was the top scorer with 72 runs off just 46 balls, smashing 5 fours and 3 sixes. Earlier, at the toss, to the surprise of many, KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir decided to bat first on a pitch that had plenty of grass so on it, but it turned out to be the batting paradise that many T20 surfaces are in Dubai.
On the hand, Mumbai Indians’ skipper Rohit Sharma was unsure of how pitch would behave and was satisfied that his batsmen would have ample amount of time to get used tp the conditions while fielding.
On to the team news now where there were no surprises in the playing XIs of both sides, with the Kiwi allrounder Corey Anderson getting his debut after being deemed fit enough to play. Earlier there were reports that Anderson may sit first couple of matches out which could turn out to be a major boost to MI in the second-half of the game.
