Kolkata Knight Riders, who began Indian Premier League 7 season with a comprehensive 41-run win over the current champions Mumbai Indians in the inaugural match, will clash with the Delhi Daredevils, who suffered a  8 wicket defeat at the hands of Bangalore, in Match 6 of the season.

While Kolkata Knight Riders will head in to this match full of confidence, their rivals Delhi would want to recover quickly from the thumping they received the other day by putting a much better performance on the night.

Previewing KKR first their biggest concern will be the form of skipper Gautam Gambhir. Gambhir looked horribly out of touch in the first match, but with the experience he possess he should return to form sooner rather than later. The other concern KKR will have is the lack of explosive hitters in middle-order now that Yusuf Pathan will miss few matches.

The weaknesses, though, are overshadowed by their strength in bowling. Sunil Narine and Shakib Al Hasan provide them with wicket taking options, while the likes of Kallis and Morne Morkel can keep the runs down.

Delhi Daredevils, on the other hand, were caught like a rabbit in the headlights in the first match. The top order looked scratchy and out of form. With skipper Kevin Pietersen likely to miss another match the onus will be on JP Duminy, Dinesh Karthik, and Ross Taylor to provide them the solidity in the batting.

Match Stats:

Indian Premier League – 2014: Match 6 – Kolkata Knight Riders vs Delhi Daredevils, at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. April 19, 2014, Start time 18:30 (Local Time), 14:30 (GMT).

Head-to-Head in T20’s:

There is very little to separate two teams as Delhi Daredevils have taken on Kolkata Knight Riders on 11 occasions so far in IPL history where KKR enjoys a slight edge over their opponents a 6-5 win-loss record.

Pitch and Weather Report:

Expect a much cooler weather as this match being played at night. The pitch loos a flat batting track with a little help for spinners. Fast bowlers and medium pacers need to watch out else they could go for plenty on this deck.

Teams News:

Kolkata Knight Riders will not look to make too many changes given that they won their first match. Expect them to play the same team.

Kolkata Knight Rider’s Possible Playing XI:

Gautam Gambhir (captain), Jacques Kallis, Manish Pandey, Robin Uthappa, Shakib Al Hasan, Chris Lynn, Piyush Chawla, Sunil Narine, Vinay Kumar, Morne Morkel, Umesh Yadav.

With Kevin Pietersen still on the side-lines with an injury, Quinton De Kock may get a chance in place of Jimmy Neesham, while rest of the team is likely to remain unchanged.

Delhi Daredevils’ Possible Playing XI:

Murali Vijay,  Mayank Agarwal, Manoj Tiwary, Dinesh Karthik, Ross Taylor, Jean-Paul Duminy, Wayne Parnell, Mohammed Shami, Jaydev Unadkat, Shahbaz Nadeem, Rahul Shukla.
