Match started with Kings X11 Punjab winning the toss and asking KKR to bat first .

 Hits of the game

1:Robin Uthappa: He continued his merry way in the tournament. After just 5 runs in 2 overs, he launched a counter attack on the Kings X11 Punjab bowlers with some lusty blows and strong pulls. His trademark shot , hitting straight over the bowlers head also fetched him good runs. He could not have timed it better, as the teams for the Bangladesh and England tour is to be selected today and he got picked up for the Bangladesh series. He finished with 42 of 30 balls after being removed by Akshar Patel. His knock gets more special considerinf that the ball dominated the bat throughout the day.

2: Umesh  Yadav: He was outstanding today and generated some serious pace with movement. He was a bit unlucky today , with some decisions going against him, but still he managed to get 3 wickets for just 13 runs in 3 overs. His fast Yorkers outside off stump was a treat to watch.

3: Akshar Patel: When Robin Uthappa and Manish Pandey were were playing with the Kings X11 bowling, this young lad from Gujarat stepped up to the scene . The day when others of his team went for plenty, he tried to turn the tables in favour of his team by  giving away just 11 runs in 4 overs , which included a 2 wicket maiden over. He also had a good news coming his way after being selected for the series of Bangladesh.

4: Piyush Chawla: He turned up with both bat and ball. He scored 17 runs from just 9 balls at a time when KKR needed someone to score quick runs. With the ball , he gave just 23 runs in 4 overs and picked up the price wicket of Miller with a gem of a delivery.

5: Morne Morkel : He started with some pace and movement and picked up the wickets of Manan Vohra and Wridhiman Saha , when they both looked set for a big one. He gave away just 23 runs in 4 overs.

Flops of the game:

1: Glenn Maxwell : With the kind of reputation this man has made for himself, his last few performance has not been upto mark.  He was not at all comfortable on the crease, surviving some close calls and finally judged LBW to Umesh Yadav , when he was 6 of 9 balls. Punjab needed much from him, especially after the failures of  openers.

2: Gautam Gambhir After being asked to bat, KKR needed a captain’s knock from him. But he looked uncomfortable in first 2 overs .  He scored just 1 runs in 3 balls he faced , before being caught at mid on by George Bailey  of Mitchell Johnson. It will , to an extent hurt his chances in the Indian team , to be selected today. He though had a good news coming his way, being selected in Indian Test squad for England series.

3: Virender Sehwag:  After KKR had put a challenging score on the board , Kings X11 came out and fire works were expected of Sehwag , but he scored just 2 runs of 3 balls before hitting a poor delivery of Umesh Yadav straight to Shakib al Hasan , standing a extra cover.

4: David Miller: They said when Maxwell doesn’t , Miller will. But this was the failure of the duo and Kings X11 suffered for it. Miller just managed 8 runs from 12 balls and never looked in control.

5: Rishi Dhawan: A genuine all rounder, who could not contribute with either with the bat or ball. He went for 44 runs in 4 overs and could not finish the innings when some big blows were needed. He just managed 14 runs of 15 balls.
