Having elected to bat first, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) put on a decent score of 160/6 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a must win match at Uppal, Hyderabad on Tuesday, in their 20 allotted overs.
For RCB, Virat Kohli top scored with 67 runs off just 41 deliveries, while Ab de Villiers smashed off just balls to propel Royal Challengers Bangalore to a respectable score of 160.
For SRH, Buvneshwar Kumar was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets, while Irfan Pathan, Karan Sharma, Parveez Rasool all picked up a wicket each, the last wicket to fall was a run-out.
Earlier at the toss, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first in Hyderabad in a must win to keep their playoff hopes alive. Sunrisers Hyderabad, meanwhile, continued with Darren Sammy as their captain. Sammy said he would have batted first had he won the toss.
On to the team news now, Sunrisers made couple of changes to their side which lost to Kolkata Knight Riders the other night. Out went the legspinner Amit Mishra and batsman KL Rahul and the duo were replaced with Venugopal Rao and Jammu & Kashmir allrounder Parvez Rasool. Rasool played for now defunct Pune Warriors in the previous season. Royal Challengers Bangalore, on the other hand, came in to this game with the same side which defeated Chennai Super Kings couple of day ago.
