Delhi Daredevils came into the tournament with a hope that they would start all over again and erase the bad memories of last season. But nothing of it has happened so far and now the team is on the verge of creating a record that they wouldn’t want to be related with. Yes, the record is of most consecutive losses in IPL and they are currently tied with Pune Warriors India with 11 loses each.

However, the match they lost on April 12th was a close one and RR managed to win the match off the final ball. When there is such a close finish, there are going to be important numbers that will get highlighted. We bring to you all the important numbers of the clash between the Royals and the Daredevils:

Getting back on track: Delhi Daredevils set a target of 185 for the Royals to chase, this was their highest score ever in IPL since 2013. We can definitely say that the team is on the way to get back on track.

Contribution from all: This was the first instance when a team scored 180+ and had no batsmen scoring 50+ or no two pairs having a partnership of 50+ which meant RR did well to pick wickets at regular intervals but DD still managed to do well in pieces and ultimately set a good target.

Last ball finish: Rajasthan Royals needed 3 runs off the last ball and Tim Southee hit a boundary and secured a win for them. This was the first time in IPL since 2013 that a team pulled off the win on the last ball. In all, this was the 16th occasion for the chasing team to secure a win on the last ball of the innings.

Worst record in the making: DD loss to RR was their 11th consecutive loss in IPL, equalling them with the Pune Warriors India. DD would want to win the next match or else the record for most consecutive losses would be on their name.

That’s it for the numbers but this match was a lot more than numbers as a young lad from the Royals – Deepak Hooda showed great promise and his clean hitting left all experts spellbound. RR is known to introduce young talents. Samson was the find of last season, will it be Hooda for the 8th season of IPL? Only time will tell.
