Former Indian Premier League (IPL) Champions Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner would be somehow feeling satisfied after putting on a good show in the recently concluded IPL 2017 which further saw hullaballoo and nerve-jangling matches from the different respective franchises as several star performers failed to live up to their expectations before Grand Finale made it a treasure trove of memories for the gentleman’s game itself.
However, if we talk about Australian aggression, he would have had been livid with himself for not being able to defend the title this time around before rain played a spoilsport when Sunrisers batsmen were tested thoroughly by Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
In this season, we have witnessed much-improved bowling performances from the Men in Orange particularly from Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Siddarth Kaul which somehow were tested in the middle-part of the tournament for Sunrisers Hyderabad before Moises Henriques anchored the innings, who had also three fifties to his name in 12 matches.
However, it wasn’t good outing for the team which started off with a bang after thrashing Virat Kohli-led side Royal Challengers Bangalore in the inaugural match of IPL 2017 at home.
Being build-up as a formidable side since 2014, the franchise would lose its players to the completely revamped IPL Players Auction 2018 which would be a great deal for the teams that were found wanted in the previous editions of the cash-rich league.
Hyderabad-outfit had sprung many surprises in the past few editions before delivering the knockout punch in ninth edition while lifting the coveted title under the tutelage of aggressive David Warner.
