Glenn Maxwell describes himself as ‘lucky’ to be playing alongside the likes of Virender Sehwag.

Maxwell, well known as one of the best batsmen in the T20 format, admits that playing with his Kings XI teammate is a great experience.

Maxwell has yet to start in this edition of the Indian Premier League. However, he is very hopeful of getting placed within the starting line-up soon,

Maxwell transferred from Mumbai Indians last year and describes the atmosphere at Kings XI Punjab more ‘relaxed’.

He also praises his former teammate at Mumbai Indians, Sachin Tendulkar, and says that he’s learnt a lot from his experiences there.

Maxwell says that he and Sehwag often discuss many technical questions of batting while they practiced in the net, Sehwag’s advice, he remembers, was to ‘stick to your style’ and not worry much about external factors and just play your game without any pressure.

Maxwell also feels that IPL is a great opportunity to test himself against the best bowlers of the time, regardless of any nationality. There is no bowlers he feels he anticipates especially, instead saying that he faces every challenge equally.

A little over a month ago, Maxwell scored three figures off 50 balls against Sri Lanka, making it the second fastest hundred in the World Cup.
