  • The IPL 2016 auction ended today. India U 19 player Mahipal Lomor was the last cricketer to be auctioned in 2016. This season it was observed that many little-known players bagged millions of rupees. Franchises have gone berserk for a player who has little prospect in international cricket. Delhi Daredevils is the most unplanned team who spent on random players. They came in the auction with 37 crores in their purse and ended the with 6. 5 crores in their hand. At the same time, Kolkata Knight Riders did not buy any big player and Mumbai Indians proved to be the most expensive team.

    Krunayal Pandya
    He is 24. He played only list A matches and a few T20 matches. As a batsman, he does not have a good record. But as a bowler, he takes 16 wickets in 15 matches at an average of 16.18.
    He was bought by Mumbai Indians for 2 crores. He will now play with his brother Hardik Pandya.
    Nathu Singh
    This Rajasthan bowler has came in the news before as it is believed that he will be next big thing Indian bowling attack. He was bought by Mumbai Indias for 3.20 crores. It is well-known that he could bowl very fast.
    Carlos Braithwaite
    This West indies all-rounder made his Test debut against Australia in last December. In his debut match, he hit two half-centuries in the same match took a few wickets. During that innings, it was believed that he will be picked in IPL auction. But, it was unexpected that he would be bought for 2 crores 30 lacs by Gujarat lions.
    Chris Morris
    The South African bowler sold to Delhi Daredevils for 7 crores. He is a good bowler, but not an extraordinary bloke who can turn around the match singlehandedly. 7 crores is an expensive buy for Delhi.
    Pawan Negi
    He recently selected for India for Asia Cup and World T20 squad. Delhi Daredevils bought him for 8.50 crore which made him become the second highest priced player after Shane Watson. Even Yuvraj Singh sold to Hyderabad Sunriser for 7 crores. Now it will have to see how much effective he will be in the IPL for Delhi.
    Meanwhile, Sunriser Hyderabad was the most sensible team in the auction. They came with 30. 15 crores. They bagged players like. Ashish Nehra, Yuvraj Singh and Mustafizur Rahman, Barinder Sran for 1.20 cores
