Out of favour Indian all-rounder, Irfan Pathan was slammed by so called Muslim Bigots after the left0-arm pacer shared a photo of himself while celebrating Raksha Bandhan. He shared the picture on different social media platforms which irked many Muslim fans who ridiculed him for celebrating a Hindu festival and also shamed him for not following the rules of Islam.
The incident comes a few days after Irfan was subjected to severe trolling on religious sentiments when people slammed him for posting a picture with his wife where her arms were visible and she had worn a nail polish. While some fans said that it is due to his misdeeds, Irfan is not a part of the Indian team anymore while others slammed him for celebrating a non-Muslim festival.
The Islamic radical trolls have been in the thick of the action for the past few days with another cricketer Mohammad Shami being targeted. Shami was first trolled for allowing his wife to wear a gown and was then slammed due to celebrating his daughter’s birthday which according to the Muslim Bigits is not allowed in Islam.
Here are some of the replies:
It is a very unfortunate thing that despite getting independence around 70 years ago, we still live in a country where people are treated on the basis of religion. A few days earlier Mohammad Kaif was slammed for playing chess. Now how come playing chess is not allowed in Islam? These so called bigots have trolled well-known personalities on a regular basis and it is due to this reason, India is not able to rise above other countries.
Meanwhile, Irfan Pathan hasn’t been in the scheme of things for the last few years and making a comeback at this age doesn’t seem to be a possibility. He was a fantastic bowler during his peak but failed to realise his potential for a longer period of time. He remained unsold in the IPL Auctions this year but was later bought by the Gujarat Lions as a replacement for Shivil Kaushik.
