Irfan Pathan had a special guest at his place when Anil Kumble came visiting him. The former teammates reunited together and bonded over food. Pathan was obviously delighted by Kumble presence and could not help but showcase his love and respect for the legendary individual.
Soon after completing the meet, which was strictly “amateur” vegetarian to suit Kumble’s preference, Pathan tweeted about the meet and tweeted: It was great having u at home @anilkumble1074 bhai…hope u liked the amateur veg food #love n #respect.

Away from limelight
Pathan is currently preparing for the upcoming domestic season to which he is keenly looking forward after having a dull show in the Indian Premier League last year. The left arm fast bowler has been going through a low time in his career.
Despite losing the opportunities to make a comeback into the national side, Pathan continued his impressive work at the domestic level even if required overcoming persistent injuries. However, he had failed to get the headline when it mattered the most in the last couple of years.
Regardless of the downtime, Pathan has assured of proving his critics wrong.
Controversial end of coaching stint
Anil Kumble is currently enjoying life off the cricket field, engaged with administrative work yet again after quitting the Team India’s Head Coach role in a controversial fashion. Kumble was appointed as the coach for a year’s time by the BCCO appointed CAC and enjoyed a great time with the team, result wise.
However, his tenure turned bitter once reports about an alleged rift between him and the skipper Virat Kohli broke. The matter reached the peak of its intensity after India lost the Champions Trophy 2017 final to Pakistan in London and Kumble, a day after, resigned from his position. After his departure, the controversy died a natural death as the drama shifted to the BCCI’s process of appointing his successor.
