Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan is arguably one of the better talents the country has seen in the 21st century. He has been a predominant bowler before becoming an excellent batsman as he played a great role in India’s triumph in 2007 T20 World Cup.
However, Irfan had taken a hit due to a series of injuries which has seen him away from cricket for a long time. Despite making a comeback to the national team, he has failed to live up to the expectations as he lost his place.
But the southpaw has taken a new low in his cricket career as he was not picked by any of the franchises in the recently concluded IPL auction. The 32-year old was one of the bug names available in the auction but has gone unsold at the end of the day as the franchises looked elsewhere.
Irfan Pathan, who has recently become a father, has taken his twitter account to express his disappointment but has vowed to come back stronger. He has left a heartfelt message to his fans as messages have poured to the cricketer after the IPL auction snub.

Irfan Pathan has also impressed in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy as he is one of the best performances in India’s premier domestic T20 inter-zonal league. However, the talented 32-year old was not picked up but there is still a chance for Irfan to make a comeback to IPL if any franchise opts for him as a cover to an injured player.
He will also look to make the most of upcoming Vijay Hazare trophy as he eyes a greater comeback in the upcoming months.
