ISL exclusive : Sourav Ganguly inaugurates the registration camp of first official fan’s club of Atletico De Kolkata
Atletico De Kolkata are already amongst one of the most buzz-making teams in the Indian Super League and now they created another history. As the team already had their official fan’s club, first of any teams of ISL, now the co-owner of the team and former captain of Indian cricket team Sourav Ganguly showed his full support as he attended and inaugurated the registration camp of the fan’s forum. Named as ‘Atletico De Kolkata Fan’s Fraternity’ (ATKFF) the members saw the first fan magazine of the forum also getting inaugurated by Sourav.
As soon as the registrations were started, innumerous applications poured in proving the event to be a grand success. The membership comes with a season tickets for all the home matches of Atletico De Kolkata, a jersey and some merchandised goodies.
The program organised on 20th of September near Sourav’s residence in Behala, Kolkata had a huge number of Dada fans queing up to catch a glimpse of the maestro.
The organisers said, “We are overwhelmed to have his support and it means a lot to us that he took his time out of his busy schedule to turn up for his fans and do the honours.”
Atletico De Kolkata were the first champions and current title holders of Indian Super League. Though there are business tycoons like Harshvardhan Neotia and Sanjiv Goeka amongst the owners, Sourav Ganguly has been the face of the club ever since its birth. Atletico Madrid also stands as a co-owner of the club.
Started in the year 2014, ISL has proved to be a huge hit already. The idea has been to promote Indian football and bring young talents forward. The way international players have joined and played with raw Indian talents, it can be hoped that they will learn more from these experiences.
ISL will start from the 3rd of October this year. The team looks really promising with a strong line up. The players are supposed to arrive by the last week of this month and hopes are really high from the defending champions.
