Jacques Kallis has hailed Gautam Gambhir as one of the most influential and valuable players in the IPL.

The former South African all-rounder was part of the squad which won the IPL 2014 Trophy along with Gambhir. As of now, Kallis continues to advise the team, while Gambhir continues to dole out excellent prformances as a batsman and as a skipper.

Gambhir recently led Kolkata Knight Riders to victory against Mumbai Indians with a thumping 57 off 43 balls in the opening match of IPL. The defending champions seem to be confident and ready to face the challenges of keeping their IPL 2014 trophy win.

Kallis praised Gambhir’s cool captaincy and good form in bringing the team together, saying that he ‘refused to panic’ and continued to play in a way that eventually won them the match.

Kallis is regarded as one of the greatest cricketers of all time, and no doubt he has had much to teach Gambhir over their many years together in the Kolkata Knight Riders Squad, sharing memories of two trophy wins over the course of three years as teammates.
