Left-arm pacer Junaid Khan is in doubt for the ICC World Cup 2015 after it was revealed that his knee injury was more serious than initially diagnosed. Junaid Khan was also sent home from UAE without featuring in any match of the ongoing series against Australia.

A PCB official quoted:

Junaid Khan might require surgery for his injury and he is certainly out of the series against New Zealand which is to be played in November and December at UAE.”

A member of their medical team said that “Junaid’s MRI scans have shown a Grade 3 osteochoderal fracture in his knee and there is also intra-substance degeneration within the posterior horn of the medical meniscus. He is currently undergoing a conservative management plan but the full picture will be shown in a couple of days.”

It would be a great setback for Pakistan if Junaid Khan is ruled out of the World Cup. Pakistan have already lost Saeed Ajmal due to his illegal action and if they lose Junaid for the World Cup then I think Pakistan will have to suffer some serious beating in the World Cup.
