Australia’s 1987 World Cup winning captain and legend Allan Border has said that Kane Williamson currently, is the best batsman in the world. Williamson, who has been in sparkling form since the last year, has found able appreciation in Border.
Border said that Williamson was excellent in every condition, and he was even better than the likes of Steve Smith and AB De Villiers.
“Of all the gun batsmen going around, Williamson would be the one I’d choose to bat for my life,” Border told Fox Sports in a recent interaction. “Over AB de Villiers, in front of Steve Smith, in front of Warner, in front of all of them,” Border said.
The Australian batting legend also said that the technicalities of Williamson’s batting made him an unstoppable batsman and that led to the eminent success achieved by the New Zealander. “Technically, he’s probably as equipped as any of them because I think he can take that technique to all different types of pitches.”
Border’s words reflect the truth, as off late Williamson has achieved unparalleled success. The New Zealander has been in a rich vein of form across all formats, and his gutsy hundred in the first test at the Gabba was just a proof of his abilities.
