There is no secret in the fact that England’s Kevin Pietersen likes Indian Premier League (IPL) very much. Undoubtedly one of the hardest hitters of the cricket ball KP, who is a part of the SRH squad this season, will not be able to play a role in the group stages of the tournament as he’ll be playing for Surrey to get back into the national team.
The England national born in South Africa captained the Delhi Daredevils, who finished last in the previous season and as a result, it saw him released for the auction, where he was grabbed up by the SRH. However, he will only play for the franchise if they are able to reach the knockout phase of the tournament which will last not more than a week between the 19th and 24th of May.
Pietersen, who was one of the costliest players in recent season has always had a liking for this extravagant event and this time he took it to Twitter to express his love towards the league. He exclaimed that IPL was one of the greatest sports shown on earth and that it excites him very much. He also wished all the people involved in the organization of the event along with the players a very good luck for the whole tournament.
Pietersen is working hard in the county for Surrey, where he is trying to impress the selectors and get back in the national team after being sacked in February 2014.
