IPLL 2017: Kings XI Punjab vs Sunrisers Hyderabad: Predicted lineup of Kings XI Punjab

Kings XI Punjab had the ideal start to the ongoing IPL season when they managed to win their first two games comprehensively under new captain Glenn Maxwell. However, they have lost their way in the middle as they suffered defeats in four successive games.

The men from the north will now move back to their home ground Mohali after playing their initial home games at Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Sunrisers would be the first team to play against Kings at Mohali this season and it is going to see Yuvraj Singh go back to his home ground.

Sunrisers are one of the most formidable and well-balanced sides in this season’s IPL and Punjab will need to be at their absolute best to outfox their opponents on Friday.

Previous Encounters

Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab have faced 9 times so far in IPL history and the men from the South won 7 of the 9 games which make them once again clear favourites in the fixture.

Sunrisers had handed Punjab a disappointing 5-run defeat earlier in the season and are looking strong with both Yuvraj Singh and Ashish Nehra set to be back in the starting XI at Mohali.

Recent Form:

SRH: L W W L N

Talking Points

Kings XI Punjab’s bowling has been a major concern as their bowlers have leaked runs at will despite terrific batting displays. Having no top class bowler is one of the serious issues, the team is facing at the moment.

But young Natarajan has looked impressive in their win against Gujarat Lions earlier this week and could yet again play a huge role in cutting down runs at the death.

Predicted XI:

Punjab would not look to make many changes to their squad as they have won their last game against Gujarat Lions after four defeats in a row. Maxwell and Virender Sehwag would be more likely to stick with the same lineup for the game against Sunrisers.

Axar Patel and KC Cariappa are set to play a massive role in the game with Sunrisers batting packed with left-handers as we can also see Glenn Maxwell rolling his arm if needed.

KXIP XI: Hashim Amla, Marcus Stoinis, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), David Miller, Glenn Maxwell (c), Mohit Sharma, Sandeep Sharma, Manan Vohra, Axar Patel, KC Cariappa, Natarajan.
