After the return of Jagmohan Dalmiya as Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) president, on Monday Kirti Azad, the former cricketer said the practice of the top posts in cricket governing body being passed around between same people has ‘ruined’ the cricket.

He also charged the cricket officials of being opportunistic. Kirti Azad said that personally he has a very good view of Jagmohan Dalmiya. But according to him this is the same Narayanaswami Srinivasan who had instigated a court case against Jagmohan Dalmiya, accusing him of a trickery of Rs. 44 crores? Now, seeing the chance they have joined hands.

He was quoted saying: “It is like repainting the same old building and calling it new. It is important that a national sports bill is passed. People are holding the posts for 10, 15 or 20 years. They are ruining the sport.” Meanwhile, Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) vice president (South Zone) Dr. G Gangaraju said that the newly recruited administration will work for the betterment of the Indian cricket.

Dr. G Gangaraju said that Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) have got very good team of people. The president welcomed the squad. All the office bearers are ready to work together for the betterment of Indian cricket. He is sure this team of people would do a quality work for the game of cricket. Jagmohan Dalmiya was formally elected as the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) president during the board’s Annual General Meeting organized in Chennai.

Jagmohan Dalmiya has substituted Narayanaswami Srinivasan, after the Supreme Court prohibited the latter from standing as a candidate for the top position following its probe into a fixing and betting scam surrounding the Indian Premier League (IPL). Anirudh Choudhary has been selected as treasurer of the body while Amitabh Chaudhary and Anurag Thakur have been selected as Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) joint secretary and secretary respectively.
