The ban on Sunil Narine by the International Cricket Council (ICC) seems to have given a blow to the Kolkata Knight Riders as this West Indian spinner has not only been the highest paid bowler of Kolkata team in the last IPL, Narine was the key bowler of Kolkata Knight Riders.
And Mr Venky Mysore, the CEO of KKR also denied admitting that the franchise bosses including its owner Shahrukh Khan has reportedly expressed concern over the whole incident. With a lifetime ban, Narine’s career is going to be in big jeopardy as the cricketer is unlikely to participate even in the next cricket World Cup. Although, there is a chance for the cricketer as well as West Indies cricket board to submit an appeal.
The CEO of KKR however officially said, “We will be able to make comments about Narine ban only once we receive the ICC papers.” But it has been learnt that KKR has already started planning to set an alternative of Narine.
And as its reflection the bosses have reportedly made telephonic discussions already with its bowling coach Wasim Akram and batting coach Jack Kalis. And according to KKR camp, both the coaches have advised the franchise bosses to eye basically on two players who had already represented the tem in the last season IPL.
They are spinner and batsman from Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan, Australian spinner and hard-hitting batsman Brad Hogg. Both these spinners were not regular in KKR in the IPL last season. In the coming IPL both of these spinners can be seen in action regularly.
