Kohli and Sachin cannot be compared says David Warner

A decade ago, India’s legacy in the sport was carried by one Sachin Tendulkar who never failed to deliver when his team needed him.

And when his time was up, the legacy had to be carried on and in came the aggression of Virat Kohli.

To even say that Kohli can try to match Sachin’s records is in itself an achievement for the Delhi-born batsman and Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner agreed to the same.

The explosive Australian batsman has been in sublime for this season taking his team’s responsibility as a skipper and has taken his side into a good position halfway into the competition.

Talking to the media recently, Warner said that Kohli will write his own history and that he cannot be compared to the legendary Indian cricketer.

“Virat is a great competitor but can’t compare anyone with Sachin. Virat will leave a legacy when he is done playing cricket,” said Warner.

Interestingly, both Warner and Kohli are the frontrunners for the Orange Cap this season and have been simply unplayable.

Both the players have had a number of face-offs in recent times with each getting the better of the other and Warner felt that there was mutual respect between the two on and off the field.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad boast one of the best bowling line-ups in the competition but the lack of a strong middle-order has seen them lose games this season. However, there was some great news for the South Indian franchise recently.

The new-buy and star Indian international Yuvraj Singh is all set to make his first appearance for the franchise since signing for them at the start of the season.

The stylish left-hand bat is one of the most dangerous hitters in the shortest format of the game but the SRH franchise were dealt a blow during the World T20 game against Australia when the 34-year old picked up a back injury that ruled him out of the rest of the competition.

He has since not been up to full fitness but it was revealed that Yuvraj will be a part of the SRH team that will face the Gujarat Lions at the RGIS stadium in Hyderabad on Friday.

The skipper, David Warner was all smiles after getting his star player back into the squad and revealed that the 36-year old will have a huge job in hand at the franchise.

“Yuvraj has an important role to play for Sunrisers with his batting and left-arm spin bowling,” Warner revealed.

This inclusion will make the SRH team a bit stronger and with 4 wins in their last 3 games, they are in a good position to qualify for the knockout stage.
