Owing to the sheer unparalleled brilliance of Virat Kohli, Australia are on their way out of the ICC World T20. Kohli batted like an utter genius as he dominated the Australian bowling to the core.

After Australia posted a moderate total of 160, it was time for the Virat Kohli show. The Australian bowlers tried everything, from cutters to slower ones, but nothing seemed effective enough against Kohli.

Australian captain Steve Smith was quick to admit that Kohli was simply incredible against the Kangaroos. “That was a serious innings from Kohli under pressure. He just hit everything out of the middle and found the gaps. Zampa could have bowled one more over.

I thought the quicks bowling their slower balls into the wicket could be handy but it wasn’t to be that way. But Virat played an unbelievable knock,” said Smith.

“I thought 160 was about par. And it took an incredible innings from Kohli to take them over the line. I thought we were in a very good position at one point – where they needed over 2 a ball. We let ourselves down in the game against NZ,” said Smith, speaking of the crucial loss his side faced against New Zealand.

“We were always chasing it from there. Just weren’t able to do it tonight. It’s been great fun to play here at the World Cup. It’s a great place to play cricket. Wish India all the best,” Smith summed up.
