However, he failed to connect a ball from Mathews which kept a bit low than expected as it clipped his stumps. With 14 for 2, Kohli joined Rayudu at crease. Kohli started to find gaps easily and Rayudu looked to settle down. But once settled, Rayudu started to play some strokes and Kohli was moving quick and fast. They shared their 3rd century stand in 9 innings but it came to an end when a poor call from Kohli ended Rayudu’s knock of 59 and brought an end to 136 run stand. However, India moved on with Uthappa and Jadhav getting starts but failing to convert with Kohli steady on other end.

It was a huge blow for India when Binny and Ashwin departed in span of two balls as India still needing 56 with just 3 wickets in hand. However, Kohli changed his gears after his century and Akshar giving a decent support, India got past the target with another 8 balls to spare.
